The 17th International Conference on Photonics and Imaging in Biology and Medicine (PIBM 2024) was held in Sanya, Hainan Province from November 2 to November 7. PIBM is one of the largest international events in biomedical photonics in Asia. Since its establishment in 1999, it has been successfully held for 16 consecutive sessions! The conference was chaired by Academician Qingming Luo, President of Hainan University, Lihong V. Wang, California Institute of Technology, USA, and Valery V. Tuchin, Saratov State University, Russia.
The conference focused on five topics of neurophotonics, immunophotonics, agricultural photonics, analytical biophotonics and translational biophotonics, and conducted a four-day exchange discussion through 8 conference reports, 1 keynote report, 46 invited reports, 68 oral reports and 174 posted reports.
At this conference, the jury selected 11 students from more than 60 student reports to win the "Best Student Paper Award" of this conference. Among them, Jing Xu (supervisor: Associate Professor Qingliang Zhao), a master's student of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence, won the honor. She gave an oral presentation on the topic "Enhanced OCTA lmaging through Conditional Guidance Diffusion for Artifact Removal", A new method for removing artifacts by conditional guided diffusion to enhance the quality of OCTA imaging is presented in this paper !
Nearly 500 students and representatives from universities, research institutes and enterprises from the United States, Russia, Canada, Sweden, Israel and other countries gathered in Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City, aiming to attract scientists, engineers and clinical researchers from different disciplines to explore the application of optics, photonics and imaging technology to solve problems in biology and medicine.
